Last weekend, a number of our youngsters from Foyer des Jeunes participated in the Zinneke Parade. Check out the photos of a very nice day below!

On Saturday 1 June, some of our youngsters from ‘Foyer des Jeunes’ will participate in the 13th edition of the infamous ‘Zinneke Parade’. The parade passes through the streets of Brussels every 2 years and this year’s theme is ‘Plaizir’. According to its organisers, the Zinneke Parade aims to build bridges between the 19 municipalities and the city centre; between Brussels residents, Dutch speakers, French speakers and multilinguals. It promises to be another edition with lots of music, dance, entertainment, colour, … 6 youngsters will walk with the parade fully dressed up! Wondering what their costumes will be? Then be sure to come and watch and try to recognise them in the parade!

Did you know?
The people of Brussels nicknamed both the little Zenne stream and the local street dogs ‘Zinneke’. This is how the organisers arrived at the current term ‘Zinneke’: someone of undefined origin as a symbol of cosmopolitan and multicultural Brussels.
