Workshops – for schools and associations

Foyer organises creative workshops about themes such as diversity, media, prejudices, racism, discrimination and refugees. The workshops are suited for schoolers as well as adults.
We have a variety of workshops, unfortunately they are only given in Dutch or French! However, below you can find an overview of the workshops.

Palace of Normal and Strange

A playful, interactive expo about prejudice, diversity and democracy. In the palace, participants visit the exhibition using a booklet. They playfully deal with concepts such as prejudice and diversity, and explore the themes of democracy and freedom of expression. They discover that behind a first impression, another reality can exist

Media

The main aim of this workshop is to strengthen young people’s critical thinking to stay ahead of the news they read and share online.
This workshop focuses specifically on disinformation and the use of social networks. The aim is to provide simple tools while encouraging critical thinking about the information disseminated online, especially on social media channels. There will also be practical exercises on the computer to facilitate learning (interactive quiz on manipulated images).

Course racisme

I’m not a racist, but…
This seemingly inoffensive sentence reveals the problems in our society. Racism continues to invade our playgrounds, entertainment venues and streets. Foyer vzw’s anti-racism course is the result of an observation: racism continues to harm and affect the lives of many people, especially in education. The aim of this new track is to encourage introspection about our own prejudices and assumptions.

Poly-me

Poly-me is an escape game played in teams.
The players move in a closed space. They have to solve a series of puzzles in different languages within a given time to escape to a future destination. During the game, players discover aspects of their multiple identities.
